Marvel’s Avengers War Table Weekly Blog: 10/15/20

Happy Thursday Marvel’s Avengers fans, and welcome to our WAR TABLE Weekly Blog, where we’ll give you the scoop on the week ahead, including event updates, marketplace additions, patch notes, and more!

SHIELD has opened Substation Zero to investigate new temporal anomalies that have begun forming across the world. A space where you can meet new characters and kick off new content, you can find SHIELD Substation Zero in the Pacific Northwest on the WAR TABLE.

You’ll investigate the temporal anomalies by taking on the new Tachyon Rift missions, which are the first place players can get Cosmic Gear. Rifts occur at existing locations making the gameplay much more challenging and requiring greater collaboration between players (two minimum) to succeed. After completing the solo event mission “Breakout”,  you will see a Tachyon Mission on the War Table, which refreshes each day at 10:00 AM PDT.

The Tachyon storm will damage players over time, but charges Heroic energy at an increased rate. With the Meridian modifier active, players can pass through Temporal Anomalies to extended the time you can spend within a Tachyon Rift. A late-game offering, Tachyon Rift Missions have a minimum 140 Power Level to play.

Priority Missions

We’ve removed Priority Missions from the WAR TABLE this week to keep the focus on new Tachyon Rift Missions! Don’t worry – they’ll be back!

Priority HARM Challenges

Priority HARM Room Challenges have additional modifiers and reward comics that increase your collection and boost your stats.

Weekly First Completion Reward: Avengers (1963) #4 (1% Armor)

Minimum Power Level 15 Challenge

Modifiers:

  • Cosmos: Cosmic damage from players is increased
  • Clash: Melee damage from any source is greatly increased.

Minimum Power Level 100 Challenge, +5 Power Level Offset

Modifiers:

  • Resurgence: Enemy health regenerates after a short delay.
  • Maelstrom: All heroics charge at a significantly increased rate. Entering critical health drains all Heroic energy.
  • Cosmos: Cosmic damage from players is increased

MEGA HIVE

The Mega Hive is a single-player chain of eight missions that tests your team’s might. Each week, you’ll have a shot at completing the Mega Hive mission chain. When you defeat all eight missions, the Mega Hive mission chain is removed from the War Table until the next weekly refresh, when you can run it again with new modifiers.

This week’s modifiers include:

  • Resurgence: Enemy health regenerates after a short delay.
  • Torpedo: Projectile damage from any source is greatly increased.
  • Heavyweight: Enemy stun meters build at an increased rate.
  • Turmoil: Significantly increased presence of Riotbots.

Weekly Rewards: As you progress through the Mega Hive, rewards start as basic gear, resources, and small amounts of cosmetic currency. The more missions you survive, the resource drops increase. As you near the final mission, you’ll see better gear and artifacts awarded more often, and increased chances for patterns/nameplates. When you complete all eight Mega Hive missions, you’ll be rewarded with exclusive goodies reserved for this gauntlet, including a significant amount of high-quality resources.

Modifiers are game changers! Check out some pro-tips from our team that will help you prepare for this week’s challenges!

  • Resurgence: Quickly eliminating a single foe as opposed to bouncing around between multiple enemies or trying to control groups with area of effect damage will help make surviving Resurgence easier.
  • Capacitor: Thor’s already impressive pedigree is exacerbated when Capacitor turns up the lethality of his lightning-infused attacks. Make use of his intrinsic Odinforce ability to lay waste to foes in a manner worthy of his heritage. If Thor isn’t your Hero of choice, make sure to equip gear with Shock perks or use other Heroes—like Black Widow—who also have Shock-inducing attacks in their arsenal.
  • Famine: Focusing on Takedowns and careful usage of the regenerative nanite containers are key to survivability when Famine is active.
  • Maelstrom: Keeping Willpower high and utilizing Heroics soon after they’re ready is key to maximizing the benefits of the Maelstrom modifier. Focusing on gear that boosts the Resolve or Valor stats are also effective strategies.
  • Helix: When Helix is active, Hulk becomes a force to be reckoned with. Leverage his intrinsic Rage ability and any of his gamma-infused attacks to dominate the battlefield. Don’t like playing Hulk? Make sure to equip gear that inflicts Gamma damage and has high Intensity to help trigger the Gamma status effect.
  • Torpedo: It’s best to select heroes with strong Ranged Attacks or to equip gear high in the Precision attribute to best take advantage of Torpedo. Don’t forget, enemy Ranged Attacks also do more damage so be sure to Dodge and Evade incoming projectiles!
  • Heavyweight: Stunning enemies is a very effective combat tactic and when Heavyweight is active, things just gets easier. Equip gear with a high Intensity attribute score to magnify the impact of this modifier.

Added to the marketplace this week are Black Widow’s Legendary Emote „Souvenir”,  Thor’s Epic „Better than Edison’s Kite” Takedown, and Hulk’s Legendary „Miami” Outfit!

The Marketplace is a place for us to feature purchasable cosmetics in the form of Outfits, Emotes, Takedowns, and Nameplates. The Marketplace’s Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary items rotate weekly, and can be purchased with Credits.
